Q&A with Ursula Staneff, CFO of Oak Orchard Health
We recently got a chance for some quick Q&A with Ursula Staneff, CFO of Oak Orchard Health. She was kind enough to share her thoughts on billing-related challenges facing today’s FQHCs.
Medcor – You are located in Monroe County, NY. What is something that makes your community special?
Ursula – The area we serve has a large population of agricultural workers. That’s a unique situation with unique needs. So we make it a point always to consider that.
Medcor – Oak Orchard is an award-winning FQHC, so you obviously have a lot to be proud of. What is something that resonates with you personally?
Ursula – FQHCs provide services to those who are uninsured in communities that need healthcare the most. I’m definitely honored to be a part of that. And at Oak Orchard, I’m always so impressed to see the work done to service migrant workers coming into our communities.
Medcor – As a CFO, can you share the biggest billing-related challenges that FQHCs face?
Ursula – Right now, it is definitely Covid-19 testing, vaccination, and telehealth. The information is constantly changing. So you have to stay on top of it and be sure that all of that information is being communicated clearly.
Medcor – So obviously, we are so excited to work with you! Tell us, what are three things you were looking for in a revenue cycle/ billing vendor?
Ursula – Well, one big thing is results! But also wanted to work with a reputable, knowledgeable company and had a general feel or “good fit” for us.
Medcor – Ok, this is our last and favorite question to ask. What could OOH do with additional revenue?
Ursula – We would expand service offerings to patients living in underserved areas, continue to update equipment and facilities to allow for the best patient and provider experiences.
